Whenever possible, we source furniture, art, and decor items from local makers, artisans, and small businesses. By investing in the people and craftsmanship within our own community, we create interiors filled with pieces that have character, story, and a genuine sense of place.
Local sourcing also allows us to design more consciously—reducing unnecessary shipping and supporting a more sustainable approach to furnishing your home, while often uncovering exceptional pieces at thoughtful price points.
Our goal is not simply to create a beautiful room, but to create an atmosphere that welcomes you in and settles your system. Spaces with warmth, texture, soul, and intention—where everything has a place and nothing feels ordinary.
Naia’s connection to design began at an early age, inspired by her grandmother, a residential designer in Orange County, California, and her father, a builder and landscape designer. Growing up surrounded by design, craftsmanship, and the natural environment, a career in interior design felt like a natural calling.
She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture from The Art Institute and has since gained experience across both high-end custom residential and commercial design. Over the past five years, she has focused primarily on small-scale residential projects, working remotely with clients to create thoughtful, highly personal spaces.
Today, Naia is excited to bring her experience to Terra & Texture Interiors, collaborating with Drew to create something unique and heart-centered here in Asheville. Their approach is rooted in the belief that the most meaningful interiors are those that feel connected to their surroundings, reflect the people who inhabit them, and are created with intention.
It has long been Naia’s dream to support the local community through design—working with local artisans, artists, makers, and craftspeople to bring distinctive pieces into the homes she creates. By sourcing locally whenever possible, Terra & Texture celebrates the character of the region while supporting the people who make Asheville and the surrounding communities so special.
For Naia, interior design is about more than creating beautiful spaces. It is about creating environments that feel warm, harmonious, grounded, and true to the people and places they belong to.
Drew's passion for interior design began at a young age while decorating his bedroom with the current trends, colors, lighting and posters. Unique art pieces, wallpaper and sculpture are a few of his strong passions. While becoming a homeowner, he enjoyed tiling his bathrooms, showers and flooring to create an experience. He is a huge fan of earth tones, and connects mostly to the earth element.
Drew managed a small chain of teahouses here in Asheville, Dobra Tea, for the past 23 years and designed five of them. Creating authentic spaces inspired by the Far East is where his relationship of terra (earth) and texture formed. Joining forces with Naia through customer relations and friendships, we decided to birth this project.
Drew received his degree in Graphic Design from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. He is passionate about taking these skills to render the perfect space for our customers.
Taking pride in supporting local artisans and craft makers, Drew also works at the Marquee, a local artist gallery in the River Arts District.
Drew seeks, not only a rewarding, collaborative effort with each client, but also a desire to yield a strong pride in every design. Terra and Texture will strive in each project to support our local, artisan community.
